Web developers Semantic
Limited took a leap into the unknown recently, signing Milton Keynes
based Airkix as their latest client. Airkix is currently building
the UK's first purpose built indoor skydiving, or bodyflying,
venue.
'It's the kind of thing
you have to see to appreciate', say Semantic MD Nick Warren, 'but
the principle is pretty straightforward. Airkix is building a tall
tower with 4 large fans at the top. Fliers step into the air-stream
and... they are flying'. There's no jumping, no falling and no
planes involved to enjoy unlimited safe freefall.
And 'flying' was
certainly required to complete the project on schedule. 'Airkix
came to us with a long list of requirements but only about three
weeks development time', says Warren. 'They had re-branded and
needed the new site in time for the National Skydiving Championships
in August.'
'We like to challenge
our partners', says Airkix Chairman Simon Ward, "but even we
were surprised with how quickly Semantic got to grips with our
project. Their reputation for friendly professional service is well
deserved. Our shareholders, partners and visitors are
delighted."
