Reality hit Semantic hard earlier
this year, when the company was chosen to develop a web-site for the
hit children's TV show, SplashCamp. The reality-style show (Fridays,
4pm, ITV1), pits teams of boys and girls against each other in a
series of water sports- based challenges.
"The preview programmes had us in
hysterics", says MD, Nick Warren, "We knew straight away that we'd
found our intellectual level."
But as ITV's first reality-style show
for children, SplashCamp is a serious business. The web site (www.splashcamp.tv)
will be continuously updated during the show's ten week run. Content
will include interactive profiles on each of the contestants,
competitions and links to water-sports venues around the UK.
"We have worked hard to make the site
fun, informative and easy-to-use", says Nick. "But we are always
looking at new things to try, and as every parent knows children are
the most demanding audience of all".
