Southampton Science Park-based company Semantic
Limited is celebrating the completion of its latest high-profile web site,
for the internationally renowned Southampton Boat Show www.southamptonboatshow.com.
The Show attracts an international audience
of over 130,000 visitors, many of whom use the web site to purchase
tickets or plan their day. It includes full details of exhibitors and
attractions in 2004, as well as more practical information.
"It's a wonderful project to work on
both personally and professionally", says Nick Warren of Semantic
Limited, who is himself a trans-Atlantic sailor. "Working with the
British Marine Federation has been a lot of fun".
The Southampton site represents the second
collaboration between the two companies, following on from a successful
trade show site developed over the summer.
"The Marine Trade Show website has
surpassed our expectations", says BMF Web Executive Karen
Tyler-Croft, "and we received very positive feedback."
But the work isn't over yet. Although the
Southampton Show has ended, development has already begun on a site for the
Schroders London Boat Show, taking place in January 2005.
"We are looking forward to pulling out
all the stops on that one", says Nick Warren, "although it won't
be quite so convenient for the office."
