a new office in Southampton Science Park. The company specialises in the
development of hosted business applications for handheld wireless devices
such as the Blackberry. The Southampton Science Park office will focus on software

Nanotecture
Nanotecture has developed a way of creating mesoporous metal and metal
oxide films. Their novel technology allows Nanotecture to specify pore
sizes from 2nm to 12nm and control the structure of the resultant films.
There is a wide range of possible applications for this technology but
their main focus is on power sources, filtration / separation media and
sensors.
Sensa
Already well established on the science park, Sensa have recently taken
a substantial area of extra space to set up a new production facility. The
company, which is a division of Schlumberger, develops and manufactures
fibre optic sensors.
Paper Recycling
A new paper-recycling scheme is currently being trialled at Southampton Science Park:
Office paper from companies in 2 Venture Road is being collected and
recycled by Hampshire-based SCA Recycling. The scheme has been so successful
that it will soon be extended to cover the whole science park. This is part
of an ongoing review to recycle waste materials produced on the science
park. A scheme will soon be introduced for recycling card and there are also
plans to build a composter for all green waste on site.
