Surgeons and
patients throughout the world will benefit from the cutting-edge work of
Hampshire-based OrthoView, who have just moved into Southampton Science Park's newest building. Thanks to an increase in orders from hospitals
around the globe, OrthoView plan to boost their workforce five-fold at Southampton Science Park.
They have developed a highly successful
piece of software that helps surgeons to make extremely accurate choices
when matching up patients with artificial hip and knee joints. Since its
launch in 1999, OrthoView has taken off and is now used in over 50
countries around the world, making it the market leader in its field.
Adrian Dwyer, CEO of OrthoView said:
'All hospitals are phasing out x-ray
film - they're using digital technology instead. This is cheaper, more
efficient, better for the environment and - most importantly - better for
the patient. And when hospitals swap to digital x-rays, surgeons need
OrthoView in order to do their procedures.
Southampton Science Park
was the obvious
choice for us: OrthoView is now licensed by some of the largest companies
in the world like Fujifilm, Kodak and GE Medical Systems so the
science/hi-tech environment at the Science Park is perfect for dealing with these
corporate clients. It is in an ideal position - the excellent road
connections make it very accessible for our clients and staff. But we were
also attracted by the flexible terms and the synergy with other hi-tech
companies.' |
