Southampton Science Park's
2nd unit Takes
Shape
Work is progressing well on the second
Business Incubator Southampton's science park is developing in response to increasing demand from
technology-focused entrepreneurs across the region.
Following the extraordinary success of the
first Business Incubator Southampton, which was opened by Lord Sainsbury, the Science
Park is building a 940sq-m extension to accommodate more fledgling
knowledge-based businesses.
Business Incubator UK
"The Chilworth Business Incubator has
ensured that people with bright science and technology ideas are able to
develop their businesses to the benefit of the local and regional
economy," says Dr Don Fox, Chief Executive.
"Indeed, we are already seeing our
first 'graduates' from this UK Business Incubator extending their operations
into other parts of the local area."
Business Incubator with Broadband Access
"New tenants will enjoy all the
advantages of the existing ones - a business incubator with broadband
access, flexible space and support services and
business mentoring. It is vital to the local and regional economy that we
continue to nurture the knowledge-based industries of the future."
Business Incubator - London 1 hr
As with the existing business incubator
London is only an hour away - an important factor for many companies.
The current Business Incubator is home to
some of the most innovative new companies in the South east - many of
which benefit from the Science Park's close links with the University of
Southampton.
Business Incubator South England
The initiative forms a key element in the
Southampton Enterprise Hub, which is funded by the South East England
Development Agency and is led by Director Steven Davis.
The second Business Incubator is expected
to be ready for occupation in May 2003. |
